If you're not changing, you're not innovating; and if you're not innovating, you just might get left behind. A recent article in RestaurantNews.com highlights one franchise forging ahead with innovation: Saladworks. This 100-unit brand is 30 years old, and has aggressive plans for growth in 2017. Leading the growth is Paul Tripodes, Vice President of Franchise Sales. He brings more than 15 years of franchising experience with brands like Boston’s Restaurant & Sports Bar, Bojangles and most recently Moe’s Southwest Grill.
According to the article, innovations include new menus and store remodels "rolled out in waves, designed to create cohesion through the system, improve brand awareness and increase system-wide sales." They plan on an organized and strategic rollout to ensure franchisees can still service their loyal fans during the remodel by providing foodtrucks parked nearby.
Innovations also include a new technology bundle across the system that includes a unified, cloud-based, POS system; managed internet hardware, online ordering, punch loyalty program, Cloud Clover Music System, ProfitKeeper's online P&L statement tool, and a system-wide intranet and portal. Kyle McEuen, ProfitKeer CEO says "The ProfitKeeper tools are a perfect addition to their technology bundle and will provide valuable insight as Saladworks rolls-out these strategic changes." McEuen continues, "Having greater visibility to key performance indicators will benefit both the franchisor and the franchisee to identify gaps and set performance goals during the transition and moving forward."
