The IRS Notice, which was just released, extends the due dates for the 2018 information reporting requirements for employers to furnish information on returns and statements regarding minimum essential coverage provided to individuals.
Specifically, the notice extends the due date for furnishing the following to individuals: the 2018 Form 1095-B, Health Coverage, and the 2018 Form 1095-C, Employer-Provided Health Insurance Offer and Coverage, from January 31, 2019 to March 4, 2019.
There is no similar extension of the due date for filing the 2018 Forms 1094-B, 1095-B, 1094-C, or 1095-C with the Internal Revenue Service, which remains February 28, 2019, if not filing electronically, or April 1, 2019, if filing electronically.
