This is a different type of blog posting, and one that may change everything in your world!  You may have heard this before, however it is worth sharing with everyone ... the best way to change your company is to ‘change your mind'!  This is not about ‘self help', it is about changing the way you think about anything you encounter every business day.

In all the leadership training and improvement programs that focus on employee morale and productivity, there is one number (one concept) that ties everything together... 212° the extra degree®!  We have adopted this as a mantra, part of our business culture, and it continues to provide the one thought that employees carry with them throughout each day.

The meaning of 212° the extra degree®

At 211 degrees, water is hot.
At 212 degrees, it boils.
And with boiling water, comes steam.
And with steam, you can power a train.

The difference is the extra degree!  In business, it's the extra degree of commitment, of service, of client care, of every extra thing you can do to make a difference.  This simple concept is easy to communicate to employees.  It's easy to remember.  And it certainly will change minds in terms of how people approach their job responsibilities.

If you think about the last few times you've experienced great service, did the people you were dealing with deliver an extra degree of service?  Chances are they did.  And that's what made it memorable for you.  What if you and your employees treated your customers with an extra degree of service every day, would it change your company?  Most likely, it would!

Remember 212°... sometimes it's the simple concepts that make all the difference!
