The House of Representatives finished last week by pulling the vote on the American Health Care Act. Speaker Paul Ryan said in his remarks, “We’re going to be living with Obamacare for the foreseeable future.”

Any structural changes in the Affordable Care Act require legislation and much of the regulatory reform that would affect employers would need to derive from new legislation. A whisper of reform remains in Secretary of Health and Human Services, Tom Price, who was an outspoken critic of the ACA during his time in Congress.

While HHS is governed by ACA, there may be some simplification of regulations.  Depending on those changes, employers (particularly small employers), may see some relief on compliance costs.
