National Veterans Small Business Week (NVSBW) is an annual celebration by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) dedicated to veterans, active duty members, National Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses. This year is the administration’s seventh annual NVSBW and runs from Nov. 2, 2020 - Nov. 6, 2020.

To wrap up this year’s NVSBW, below provides further detail on the celebration’s theme and resources the SBA provides to veterans.

A rundown on the 2020 National Veterans Small Business Week.

The theme of this year’s NVSBW was “#VetBiz Resources in Your Local Community.” This highlighted the scope of free and/or low-cost entrepreneurial resources for veteran and military entrepreneurs to access in their local communities. These resources range, “from seeking business counseling services from a local SCORE chapter, to visiting the Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) in their area for help formulating a business plan.”

During this past week, the SBA highlighted the various subjects “related to the veteran entrepreneurship journey.” Below are the topics covered, and where to find post-event resources.

Transition Assistance

On Nov. 2, 2020, the SBA held a Facebook video event featuring SBA experts titled, “Transitioning from Service to Startup.” The video was published to the “Boots to Business Facebook page”.

Entrepreneurial Training

On Nov. 3, 2020, the SBA held a Twitter chat using the hashtag #IVMFTwitterChat. To view discussions, search #IVMFTwitterChat on Twitter.

National Veterans Small Business Week Webinars

This week, the SBA hosted a webinar titled, “Leveraging Your Network and Resources,” on Nov. 4, 2020.

There will be one final webinar hosted by the SBA today, Nov. 6, 2020, at 1 PM Eastern Time on the topic of “Access to Capital,” and is titled, “Financial Strategies for Women Veteran Entrepreneurs.” The registration link for this webinar is at the bottom of this page here.
