Compass Evaluation & Research
In 2001, a small group of colleagues from UNC Chapel Hill decided to mold the research they were already performing into a profitable, impactful business model. Each coming from a multitude of backgrounds including human development and education policy, these professionals formed Compass Evaluation and Research Inc.
At Compass Evaluation and Research, employees evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs (and in the past, some health programs). School districts apply for specific types of math or science programs that are funded by the federal government.
Compass Evaluation and Research then studies the organizational implementation and improvement as well as the impact the programs have on its participants and their behaviors. Compass Evaluation and Research then applies their research to organizations to ensure that money earmarked for programs is spent in a wise, effective, and efficient manner.
