West Chester, PA-based PrimePay, LLC and Philadelphia, PA-based Horn & Hardart Coffee have joined forces to support our nation’s military veterans.

Aug. 20, 2018 was the launch of a combined giveaway, celebrating the launch of Horn & Hardart’s newest brew, Bunker Blend. Those that enter will have a chance to win a bag of Bunker Blend, two handcrafted Horn & Hardart mugs, plus a $250 VISA gift card provided by PrimePay.

This dark roast coffee was made by veterans, to support veterans. Half of the blend’s profits benefit Bunker Labs Philadelphia – a national nonprofit built by veteran entrepreneurs to empower other veterans as leaders in innovation.

“When I was introduced to Bunker Labs 18 months ago, it was a cathartic experience for me. I had never been involved with a group of veterans. And that this was a young, bright, cadre of entrepreneurs has made it an enriching experience for me. Bunker Blend is my small contribution to supporting Bunker Labs Philadelphia. It’s my hope that we can make it a best seller,” Al Mazzone, Vietnam veteran and CEO of Horn & Hardart shared.

Our team echoed those sentiments.

“Partnering with Bunker Labs Philadelphia has been inspiring to our entire team across the country. A big portion of our Veterans in Business program is a give back initiative that focuses on veterans in our local communities. We are thrilled that Bunker Labs introduced us to Horn & Hardart and we can launch this contest together to promote the great work Bunker Labs does,” said our CEO Bill Pellicano.

Philadelphia natives are no stranger to the Horn & Hardart name. Its roots date back to 1888 when Joe Horn and Frank Hardart opened a small coffee shop in the city. In 1902, the company opened its first automat (a restaurant where you order fresh food and coffee out of a vending machine-like kiosk) in Philly.

Fast forward to 2017, when Mazzone and family revived this vintage chain, and continue to produce the same great coffee that once delighted consumers in two of America’s largest cities.

We recently launched our Veterans in Business initiative. Lead by US Navy SEAL Monty Heath, we look to work closely with veteran small business owners and help them run their business smoothly.

In addition to our philanthropic efforts, featured stories on veteran-owned clients, and sponsoring organizations like Bunker Labs, we hope this giveaway will further solidify our support for the veteran community.

Together with Horn & Hardart, we look for this giveaway to bring great coffee, a great connection, and great awareness to the Bunker Brew and Bunker Labs.

“With PrimePay’s presence in all 50 states, I think the giveaway will reach a wide, diverse audience. That fits well with Horn & Hardart’s history and mission,” said Mazzone.

The contest is social media-centric, so head to Facebook.com/PrimePayUS or Instagram.com/PrimePay to get the full details. The contest will run through Sept. 20, 2018 and winners will be announced at Bunker Labs’ annual Muster event.
