CASDI, or California State Disability Insurance, is a short-term insurance program for California workers. Funded by state income tax, it provides weekly tax-free benefits for employees who are temporarily unable to work due to a non-work-related illness or injury. Collecting 60-70% of average quarterly gross income, eligible workers can claim up to one year of benefits. As of 2023, the employee contribution rate is 0.9%, with a maximum of $1,378.48 per year.
